Each domain carries a different solubility class, so a lipophilic active partitions toward the nanoemulsion domain, an amphiphilic active or peptide toward the lecithin-based liposomal domain, and a hydrophilic or surface-active ingredient toward the micellar domain, by design rather than by a re-balance of the whole system every time an active changes.
